City & Guilds 6361 Level 3 Diploma for Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)

City & Guilds 6361 Level 3 Diploma for Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)

City & Guilds 6020 / 6361 DEA course

Aimed at those seeking employment as a domestic energy assessor

All 5 domestic energy assessments arranged during the course

Only accredited and suitably qualified DEAs (and existing Home Inspectors) will be allowed to carry out the Energy Assessment of the 1 million plus homes which come to the market each year all rental properties with a new tenancy in England and Wales will be required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA's) will collect data on the dimensions, construction, heating and hot water provision of the property, and enter the information into an approved software programme.
This, in turn, will produce the EPC. The first part of the certificate is a benchmarked measure of the home's energy performance on a scale A to G, where A is very efficient and G is at the other end of the spectrum.

What is an EPC?

The Energy Performance Certificate will look broadly similar to a certificate on a refrigerator.
Its purpose is to record, in a clear unambiguous format, how energy efficient the home is as a building. Using colour charts, the EPC records the current rating and compares this with the rating at which the owner or tenant should aim.

We shall arrange for you to visit FIVE different types of properties where you will conduct an inspection. You will gather evidence from the properties identifying the age, its construction, the type of insulation and heating system used, and you will produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). You will produce this certificate with the software we provide for you.

Each assignment has a specific date when they should be handed in to your tutor; however, these dates are flexible for you to learn at your own pace if required. Whilst we anticipate you completing each assignment in your own time we do have planned tutorial sessions. These dates are set prior to the start of the course allowing you to arrange a suitable time to see your tutor. You will also have access to each tutor via email, mobile and telephone if required.
